Jalandhar to marry Vrinda on Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev

Jalandhar (Mohit Raina) has already created plenty of havoc on Life OK’s Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev (Triangle Film Company). This track has garnered quite a few eyeballs. Next week on the show Jalandhar will get married to Vrinda who is an asura’s daughter and a doctor by profession.

Our source says that soon after the wedding there will be another fight between Jalandhar and Lord Shiva. The Jalandhar track may tentatively continue will 10 May 2013. It’s after Jalandhar is killed that the focus will once again shift to Lord Ganesha who is trying his level best to bring back his mother Goddess Parvati’s memory.

We called Producer Nikhil Sinha who told us, “All of this has been mentioned in the Puranas but has been slightly fictionalised on our show. Vrinda is very devoted to her husband. In fact she is the source of his power. She acts as a shield to Jalandhar which gives him invincibility. We are yet to decide though as to when Jalandhar will be killed on Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev.”

In certain versions of Hindu mythology, Vrinda was the chaste Tulsi. Because of her virtue Jalandhar’s sins would go unpunished. Lord Vishnu is said to have shattered Vrinda’s chastity thereby snapping the ring of protection around him who is then slain by Lord Shiva. Vishnu pledges that a holy plant (the tulsi) will germinate from her grave, the wood of which will create a garland around her late husband’s neck. Little wonder then that the tusli plant is worshipped in India and is renowned for its multifarious medicinal purposes.

It is to be seen how Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev goes on to depict the love story of Vrinda and Jalandhar and his demise. For more updates on the show keep watching this space.

We also called Mohit to learn more on the track but he remained unavailable.
