Shantanu aka Swayam quits Dil Dostii Dance; show to end in Jan
As reported exclusively by us, the folks at the channel initially planned to wrap up D3 and get a fresh season of D4.
But later they decided to continue with D3.
“However, now D3 will breathe its last. Reason being the show’s lead Shantanu Maheshwari (Swayam) putting down his papers. This is when the channel and maker decided to wrap up the season,” informed a credible source.
There is a buzz that the show will be back with a brand new season in the next few months.
Lavanya Anand, the creative head of Channel V confirmed saying, “Yes, D3 will wrap up only to be back with a brand new season. But we haven’t taken the call based on a cast rather on the story. We felt storywise was the right time to end this season and work on bringing back D3 new season with a bang. We have been very happy with the way the cast, crew and the creative have been. They have been nothing but co operative and profesisonal and we really appreciate it. Therefore, it is only right that I clear the air on the reason to shut D3.”
After D3 shuts, Channel V will air its ongoing show Sadda Haq for one hour for the whole month of January. And a brand new show is expected to start in February .
Producer Siddharth Malhotra and Shantanu remained unavailable for a comment.

December 24, 17:19I just can’t believe this show is ending ! Have been watching this since the beginning!!!!!! I am speechless :0 like i grew up w this show its going to be so weird to see a new season cuz its impossible for it to be the same don’t u all rmr how this team started with weaklings and dazzlers ;( aww those memories i even loved when Taani came 😀 she was amazing but people we all have to understand that this show has been running for over 3 years!!! And even dill mill gaye ran for as much years or less like this, was having a feeling this show is about to come to an end but im happy that sadda haq will be longer 😀 but D3 will always remain in our hearts ;( like this show has lots of changes but now people these actors want to explore new opportunities and they can’t if they stick to 1 show like im pretty sure Shantanu wants more roles besides dancing 🙂
