Diya Aur Baati Hum 24th August 2012 Written Update

Bhabho-Bhabhasa and SurYa well dressed walking on the road. Suraj notices Sandhya’s kumkum is scattered. He signals her but she does not understand. Bhabho-Bhabhasa move forward and she asks him what and Suraj fixes it with his handkey. Bhabho turns and taunts them. A person from the Maheshwari family welcomes them.

In Pushkar, Meena is dressed for attending the function. She is thinking about Chathuri’s issue. Chotu comes dressed up. Meena gets scared. Chotu speaks about Chathuri and Meena tells him she has gone to village and at the same time RK brings some sarees for her to take to Udaipur. He informs Vikram will be joining them later. Meena asks RK to stay in the shop as Bhabho is coming back.

Maheshwari family welcomes Rathi family. They do aarti of SurYa. SurYa take their blessings. Bhabho is pleased with the welcome and thanks them for such an honor. She introduces Brandon to them.

Anshu (Akshara’s brother) asks Suraj how he managed to cook with the foreign vegetables and Suraj says he used to eat them to know their taste.

Maheshwari men introduce Suraj to well-known people of their town. Maheshwari ladies worried as Varsha(DIL) has not come yet and they decide to serve drinks to the guests. Sandhya offers to help saying elders should not work when youngsters are there. They deny but she takes the tray from them and serves drinks. They appreciate Sandhya. Bhabho asks about their DIL and Varsha comes in but looks troubled. Looks like the dance group they had arranged has not responded about their arrival. Sandhya offers chocolate to Ananya (Maheshwari’s granddaughter). Suraj asks about chikku and Bhabho wonders who is it. They explain it is Naitik-Akshara’s son and each of them have their own nickname for the baby and call chikku, lalla, duggu, etc.

Singhaniya family arrive there. They look gloomy as Naitik has informed them about his plan to settle abroad. They try to be normal. Naksh and SurYa introduce with each other. Akshara praises Sandy as she has always encouraged and supported Suraj and tells she read an article on them in the paper. SurYa take the baby with them.

Meenakshi, Chotu and Mohit arrive. Chotu runs and hugs Suraj and says he saw him in TV. Mohit congratulates Suraj. Mohit and Chotu take Bhabho’s blessings. Bhabho asks about Vikram and Chavvi and Meena says Vikram has some work in the shop and Chavvi has gone to college. Bhabho wonders why Chathuri did not come to wish Suraj. Bhola (Maheshwari’s servant) also eager to meet Chathuri as they belong to the same village. Meena says Chathuri’s mother unwell and Bhola is surprised as he had been to the village 2 days back and did not know it. Sandhya asks him for any phone number near Chathuri’s house as they can call and know about her mother’s health. Bhola gives some masterji’s number and Sandhya writes the phone number on a paper and keeps it in her purse. Meena is worried.

Baby Naksh starts crying and they have forgot to bring him daliya in tension. Akshara says she will prepare it there. Suraj says he will prepare it. Akshara does not agree but Suraj convinces her saying he cooks for everyone and would feel good cooking for his nephew. Akshara agrees saying she will be with him while cooking and they both agree. Sandhya says she will handle the baby Naksh till then. She keeps her purse on the table and carries Naksh. She is not able to hold properly and Bhabho assists her. Sandhya then takes the baby near other kids. Meena sees the purse and is thinking of taking out the phone number from it.

Suraj is cooking daliya in the kitchen. Akshara sees him enjoying his cooking and asks whether he always cooks like this. Suraj remembers what Bhabho used to say him and speaks of how it was Sandhya who convinced him and the family to participate in WTC and because of his family’s support he was able to achieve this. He also asks whether Akshara would support Naitik as Sandhya supports him and she nods yes. Akshara’s MIL is listening their convo.

Meena shows the sarees she has brought to the Maheshwari ladies with idea of selling. Bhabho sees this and knowing she has started saree sales, admonishes Meena not to do so. She pinches Meena and says these people have arranged such a big function in Suraj’s honor and not to defame Rathis by taking money from them for the sarees.

Baby Naksh is crying and Sandhya unable to manage. Naitik sees this and comes to them. He takes the baby. They have a convo about the better living condition in foreign countries. Sandhya opposes saying India is the best and Naitik talks about the corruption and Sandhya tells him we have to understand our responsibilities, even the foreign countries have corruption, etc., but they learn from their problems and know their responsibility. They stop their convo abruptly as Akshara and Suraj come there.

Sandhya and Akshara take the baby to a room to feed it. Akshara starts feeding the baby. Sandhya asks her whether she and Naitik have any issue and Akshara denies it. Sandhya notices some books and asks about it. By then, Shankari tai comes there (she is a marriage broker and is a close friend of Akshara’s family). Akshara welcomes her and Shankari tai blesses Akshara. Akshara introduces Sandhya to Shankari tai and she says she knows Sandhya’s family and tells other details along with her parents refusing Sandhya’s marriage as they wanted her to become a police officer. Akshara is surprised listening this. Shankari tai leaves from there as she want to meet others too. Akshara tells Sandhya that she has supported and encouraged Suraj to achieve his dreams and now she should tell him about her dreams too. Sandhya is about to say something but Bhabho comes hurriedly asking for bathroom as something fell on her saree and she needs to wash it and Sandhya goes with Bhabho from there.

The honor function starts. Akshara asks Sandhya to go and sit near Suraj. Akshara’s father start with welcome speech and asks Suraj to come to the stage. He also calls daddaji to the stage to honor Suraj. Daddaji honors Suraj and Suraj takes his blessings. They ask Suraj to speak. He says he is just a halwaii who does not even know anything out of his town. It was Sandhya’s belief and his family’s support that he could win the WTC. He says Bhabho always calls him Shravan Kumar but it is because of a mother like Bhabho and father like Bhabhasa that he is able to be called so. He comes down and hugs Bhabho. Meena has finally succeeded in getting the phone number from Sandhya’s purse.

The dance group arranged had not arrived and Akshara and Sandhya plan to dance. Akshara and Sandhya dance and gradually everyone join them.
